Aaron Light

Adaptec UDF Volume Access
UDF邃｢ (Universal Disk Format邃｢) is a platform-independent file system which is particularly useful on optical media. Adaptec UDF Volume Access is a UDF 1.5-compliant File System. You need it if you wish to read closed Adaptec DirectCD邃｢ discs in a CD-ROM drive. It will not enable you to read open DirectCD邃｢ discs. Note: 窶歪losed窶 discs are sometimes referred to as 窶惑inalized窶 or 窶惑inished窶 discs. Mac OS 8.1 includes an Apple extension called 窶弑DF Volume Access窶. This supports volumes written to the UDF 1.02 specification. It cannot read DirectCD discs. Adaptec UDF Volume Access supports UDF 1.5. The two extensions can peacefully coexist. This extension will allow the Finder to present nice-looking icons and folder structures on Photo CD media. Macintosh systems without this extension can still use Photo CDs, but its absence makes it impossible to use the Finder to browse photographs and select photos to load. This means you will need at least some type of Photo CD compatible graphics program to view Photo CD pictures. Users of Photo CD should obtain this file to make Photo CD access more Mac-like. Apple Token Ring NB

AppleShare MMgr INIT
The AppleShare Memory Manager INIT extension is provided to AppleShare IP customers. This extension resolves a condition where an AppleShare IP server may randomly freeze. This can affect any AppleShare IP 5.0.x and 6.0 server running Mac OS 7.6, 7.6.1, 8.0 or 8.1. A cosmetic indicator of this problem may be seen in the "About this Computer" window, where the Mac OS would appear to use 3.9 GB of memory. Please note that the AppleShare Memory Manager Init does not fix this cosmetic indicator. The freeze condition has been reported to occur most often when Retrospect is running on the AppleShare IP server. Application Switcher
This extension allows you to 窶徼ear off窶 the Application menu and display it as a small window. Use the Application Switcher to switch easily between open programs. The Mac OS 8.5 Application Switcher can be changed in several ways:
